What is KeyParts Asset Management? |
KeyParts is a 'Virtual Inventory' application
developed specifically for Electric Utility Industry companies. KeyParts captures and merges in one database,
the inventories for Generation and Transmission companies, Distribution Cooperatives, and Manufacturers and Suppliers.
Subscribers to KeyParts can list their complete inventory in our data base and use Asset Management as an
alternative system to supplement and/or replace cumbersome inhouse legacy systems that employees find hard to
use. Asset Management can also be used by Members to limit the items listed to just their key (critical) parts
inventory and/or their excess 'for sale’ parts. Parts listed in this data base can be viewed by any company/person
with Internet access. |

Who can list Parts in Asset Management? |
KeyParts Asset Management is available to companies in
the Electric Utility Industry and to manufacturers and suppliers that sell to that industry. Asset Management
is an open system that provides all players in a common industry a common ground for locating and exchanging
parts. Asset Management is intended for the following uses –
- Inhouse inventory location only (i.e. an Intranet parts locator system)
- Member to member parts exchange
- Member to non-member parts exchange
- Manufacturer/Supplier to member parts exchanges
KeyParts Asset Management serves as an Internet tool to facilitate inventory control,
procurement and asset recovery personnel within an organization. |

What makes Asset Management unique? |
| First, it is designed so subscribers can easily
add and/or update their inventory items to the KeyParts data base using automated file transfer techniques.
(Other systems on the market require expensive interface software.)
Second, subscribers are able to use KeyParts as an online catalog of their
inventory and non-inventory items.
Third, KeyParts is designed so the entire internet community can search the
database and locate material. KeyParts provides the tools necessary to communicate with the subscriber/owners of
the material for the purchase or loan of requested material.
Fourth, KeyParts has a subscriber option that allows a group of members to
be identified as a family creating in effect an intranet within KeyParts.

How can I put my inventory items in Asset Management? |
The process for adding your items to the KeyParts
Asset Management database is very simple. Just follow the steps listed below and you can have your parts online in
24-48 hours.
- Complete the Membership Information Request and submit it;
- LPS will send you the enrollment form and pricing;
- Once returned, LPS will then forward by email the Easy 1,2,3 Steps for formatting
and submitting your inventory items;
- LPS will also issue you a USER ID and PASSWORD giving you access to
[MY KeyParts] where you will be instructed to setup contacts for your inventory items submitted.
The process is now complete. You will submit your inventory or key parts as a
file attached to an email (or by FTP). LPS will add them to the data base and you are in business. |

What is KeyParts Asset Recovery? |
KeyParts includes special features or options to
facilitate special business requirements such as when you have ‘Urgent’ needs for parts and/or when you have
‘Special Parts’ that you need to dispose of or sell. In Asset Recovery, we provide an opportunity for members
to make an ‘URGENT SEARCH’ for parts using directed email requests to a select list of vendors and other members.
Asset Recovery also contains a special option for members
to list special items for sale in ‘MY YARD SALE’. In ‘MY YARD SALE’ you complete a form listing individual
items for sale and you also have the option (not yet implemented) to include pictures of the item. Again, we use
both directed emails as well as open site postings to help you accomplish the sale. |

|
Who can use Asset Recovery? |
The Asset Recovery option is available for KeyParts
members to use. URGENT SEARCH and MY YARD SALE are options that benefit members the most when they are open to the
entire industry. We attempt to give users of these two options the best chance to succeed in either finding that
critical part or in disposing of that key asset. Asset Recovery’s email base is designed to grow substantially over
time bringing your listings to the direct attention of key companies that can help you achieve your objectives.

What makes Asset Recovery unique? |
KeyParts includes an ‘URGENT SEARCH’ option that lets
members send emails to pre-selected Electric Utility, Manufacturing and Supplier companies. This email option can be
used to find urgently needed parts; tools; personnel and/or supplies required to keep your plants operating. Asset
Recovery’s URGENT SEARCH can be especially useful in both scheduled and unscheduled outages.
The ‘MY YARD SALE’ option in Asset Recovery is equally of value to members as it provides a new dynamic asset
recovery option. With ‘MY YARD SALE’ members can list excess and/or obsolete inventory items, tools and capital
assets that are special or unique bargains to other Electric Utility companies around the world. You will be able to
include pictures in GIF or JPG formats that will be included to help you sell these items (not yet operational).
With both of these Asset Recovery options, LPS doubles your chances of success by using directed emails as
well as site postings to help you achieve your asset recovery objective. |
